Glass Design and Patterns

Have you ever asked yourself how many different types of glass exist today? There are so many type of glass that I have lost count already. Most us have only seen the most common ones

  • Clear
  • Bronze
  • Gray
  • Tempered
  • Laminated
  • Low-e glass

If you are planning to remodel your home, I would suggest you to at least ask your general contractor or contact a glass company to show you the type of glass available for your doors and windows. It is a good idea to put all the options on the table before choosing a glass design that way you won’t regret your decision in the near future. You might want to use a clear glass, obscure, or antique glass for your indoor windows.

Here is a great list for the most commonly used glass types with full description, images, and much more so you can get an idea of what is available to the general public.

  • Everglade
  • Flemish
  • Glacier
  • Obscure
  • Reed
  • Flax
  • Illusion
  • Florex
  • Flutex
  • Glue Chip
  • Hammered
  • Industrex
  • Rain
  • Aquatex
  • Reed
  • Sycamore
  • Taffeta
  • Saten

I have not listed all of them, but in case you want more information for any glass not listed let me know. I will get that information as soon as possible so you can see a photo and its description.  I am constantly updating other sections of my site with more information and sometime would take a while to comeback to this section. This is why I suggest to leave a comment or contact me.
