What is the cost to replace patio door glass?
What is the price to replace a patio door? Answering this question is not that easy because there are many factors that will affect the actual cost.
Here is a comment from a previous reader:
“I’d love to find someone in my area that is even close to $300. I’ve now gotten 3 quotes over the phone ranging $450-$650 as just starting prices for 32×74. I live in the Minneapolis area. $200 seems low for double paned tempered glass.”
First of all, thanks for leaving your comments or suggestions. It does help other readers about your experience replacing a sliding patio door glass. This comment was from a previous post about patio door glass in general, but I wanted to give more info on this topic as it seems a lot of people are asking me the same question. Like I said before, If you’re ...

Should I replace the broken patio door glass myself?
FAQ= Some kid have broken my outside pane glass of my patio door. The glass has 2-3″ dia. hole and whole glass is like cracked wind shield of car. This door is a fixed door (it does not open or closed). Can I hire somebody to just replace outside pane glass or please suggest what I need to do? Glass is clear. Do you have any idea (aprox.) how much it will cost? Should I call the glass repair
people or door replace service?
Answer= A 2-3″ whole means it was a really big hit, you’re lucky that the other one was not broken at the same time! This service would be considered an emergency and pray that is not on a weekend. Your glass should be breaking like the glass on the side of your car and not like your windshield. Windshields ...

How much does it cost to replace my patio door glass?
FAQ= The glass on my patio door (on one side) is broken. I measure it up the size inside the frame is 33 1/4″ x 75 1/4″. What size of glass do I need to make a fix? How much would it cost? I live in Arlington Texas, do you have any store or phone number to call? Thanks
Answer: Most likely it is a 34″ X 76″ with 5/8 O.A. The cost for replacing a patio door glass varies greatly depending where you live and who you call. I suggest to call your local glass company and two others to compare their quotes.
How much does it cost? Well, expect to pay an average of $300 for the clear tempered glass. That would be for just one door. If you get a quote for $600 plus you’re paying too much.

Insulated glass repair question
I have broken the outside glass on a double pane window of my house. The outside piece will not come out to be replace because it is held in by some kind of black rubber or glue on the inside edge. The window does not shatter so I tried breaking pieces off until it was all gone – starting thinking maybe I shouls ask someone. All the windows in this house fog some during the winter. I thought this would help explain what kind of window – it fogs, it doesnt shatter, it is sealed with a black glues or rubber on the inside edge of the outside piece of glass. Question? Do I have to replace the whole window or can you guys just replace the outside broken piece? Thanks

You don’t have to replace the whole window only the broken glass unit.Unless the window frame is ...

I am looking for some decorative glass for kitchen cabinet doors. I am specifically looking for 4 pieces about 42 by 10 (not exact)…anyway, I want some sea green old fashion glass with the vintage bubble look. Do you do decorative glass and in such a small order ? If not, do you know who does?
Answer: We do not sell or install glass. The best option for you is to call a local glass company.
You can also visit this page where I have listed the most common glass types that glass companies usually have in stock.

Sliding Patio Door Glass Care
Do you need a sliding patio door glass replacement? You are not alone. While the glass for patio doors is tempered, you can break the glass if you are not careful when mowing your lawn. Be extra careful when using the weed eater as they are the number one cause for broken glass. It will cost more than a hundred dollars to replace it, so take a few minutes to protect the glass. Every week someone in our area call us to fix their door glass! Don’t be the next victim and save yourself that money for something else.
For foggy patio door glass there is not much you can do other than replace that glass with a new one. As I already said it is very expensive so shop around for the best deal. This is also the time to upgrade your glass to low-e in ...

Patio Door Glass FAQ
Question: We have just had new patio doors installed but have now noticed some scratches on the glass panels (not there before). There are a series of vertical scratches, some with little black bits in them. We got some work done to the house (wooden flooring, plastering, new kitchen)immediately after the doors went in. Could you suggest what might have caused the scratches?
