At some point in you life you will have to call a glass company to replace your glass or mirror. Knowing what to ask and getting the right service is important before choosing a glass company. There many glass shops, but not all of them will offer you the same service or quote. Why? It will depend on many factors that you must be aware of before deciding to go with any particular company.

Advice on choosing the right glass company:

• Years in business – This will tell you that they will be in business in future in case you need to call them back.
• Personal Referrals – Ask your family or friend about the reputation about certain contractors
• Read previous customer review – This information can be found by searching on Google, Yahoo, or MSN.
• Go online – Visit their website and see what areas they specialize in.

Should price be the deciding factor? I don’t think so.

So many time people with go for the cheapest glass repair service and not take into consideration what comes with that quote. So ask questions about the service you will receive. If you are going to a hire someone to replace your glass, make sure it is glass company. There are the contractors that do “everything” and just to make a profit from you they will say anything to replace your glass.

Compare Estimates

I recommend to call at least 3 glass contractors and compare their prices and service. With three quotes, you will have an idea how much it will cost you repair glass. Also make sure the glass company actually visit your place and not offer you a quote over the phone. There is no way someone can give you quote over the phone without actually looking what needs to be replaced. If they do most likely they are over inflating their prices and I would recommend not do business with them.

Estimates are usually free, so ask before scheduling a service call. When the glass tech arrives, ask questions about type of glass you have and what you can do to lower their quotes. This way you will know if someone is lying to you and adding extra services that you don’t need. In the event you get different information about your glass from contractors keep yourself alert because something is not right.
